Firm Profile:
"Peter Adediran Internet Lawyers is a leading Internet-focused law firm based in London whose clients include various: creative individuals, entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses.

Our practice focuses exclusively on matters of Internet law. That focus and the in-depth experience that comes with it, allows us to provide our clients with specialized attention and problem solving in all aspects of Internet law. This involves matters related to: joint ventures, website agreements, content licensing, defamation & speech, privacy law & data protection, copyrights & trademarks infringement, domain name disputes and all other Internet related litigation.

What distinguishes us most from other law firms is that we are pioneers in Internet Law and understand Internet technologies. Our lead lawyer Peter Adediran has practiced in this area since the late 1990s and speaks the language of Internet-oriented businesses. In 2001, he wrote one of the first books in the United Kingdom regarding domain name disputes. This was only two years after the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) procedure devised by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to resolve domain disputes was established. It is on this strong foundation that the firm is built. We have followed our passion for technology, media and the Internet and the unique issues of law that arise in transactions in these areas.

Legal Services
Understanding the laws related to the Internet is a very specialist subject. Getting it wrong can be extremely costly and leave creative individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses wide open to being taken advantage of, or worst yet litigation.

The matters undertaken by Peter Adediran Internet Lawyers can be divided into two subcategories:
1. Contentious (means it involves going to court); and
2. Non-contentious (means it usually will not involve going to court).
CONTENTIOUS
Domain Name Disputes

Are you a trademark owner? Has someone registered the same domain name as yours except that the country or industry specification is different such as .eu, .com, .co.uk? Is that person using the domain name to damage your reputation; trade on your goodwill or simply holding it without using it? Peter can help you sort out your problem.

Internet Contractual Disputes

This is usually where you are an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Active Server Pages (ASP), and a customer is not paying your fees or is late in paying your fees. Or where you are a customer and you consider that you have received a wrongful or unlawful service or there has been a breach of the implied terms of fitness for purpose or satisfactory quality in your contract. Peter Adediran is very experienced in acting for the Claimant or the Defendant in these cases.

Intellectual Property Disputes

Peter Adediran has dealt with several cases of copyright infringement. This is usually where a website has simply copied part or the whole of the client`s website; or where a website developer refuses to release some finished work to the client; or where a program has been developed by an employee and rights to the program are in dispute.

Online Contractual Disputes

This involves B2C or B2B ecommerce transactions.

NON CONTENTIOUS

Computer Licensing and Outsourcing

This means outsourcing client technology functions. We provide a full service for IT outsourcing from the initial outsourcing decision, the bidding process, the structure of the transaction, and advise on risks and how best to manage and reduce these risks as well as draft and negotiate terms.

Joint Ventures

A joint venture is a type of business partnership, which is formed for a specific, limited purpose or for a limited period of time. The partners to a joint venture, which may include two or more business entities, unite via a joint venture agreement for a single business partnership transaction, including community of interest, contribution of assets, and sharing of profits or losses. Peter Adediran has extensive experience of normal web and mobile web joint ventures including: NOP and Bibliotech; NYT and Vodafone; Orange and 3.

Privacy Law & Data Protection

With the introduction of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Human Rights Act 2000 there is no doubt that privacy law is here and that it applies to the Internet. Peter chapter on data protection in his book "A Practical Guide To Business Law and the Internet" has been highly praised by business managers worldwide.
